Rathmullan

Rathmullan was a special stop on the Monday afternoon bus tour.  We stopped to visit Robert Gilbert Malseed who had been unable to join us in Letterkenny.

Rathmullan is famous as the site of the "Flight of the Earls".  In 1607, many lords of Ulster departed Ireland from Rathmullan.  This departure helped pave the way for the establishment of the Ulster Plantation in which Malseeds were granted land.
